Superintendent Mobile Maintenance
Job Summary: Maintenance leadership/mentoring role with one of the largest open pit mines in SE Asia.
MMG Limited is a global resources company that mines, explores and develops base metal projects globally. We are one of the world’s largest producers of zinc and a substantial producer of copper, lead, gold and silver. MMG LXML’s Sepon copper operation in the Lao PDR produces approximately 85,000 tonnes of copper annually.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for coaching and mentoring Lao staff in the delivery of Mobile Maintenance function. This role is responsible the maintenance programmes associated with Heavy Equipment and Light Vehicles and has a Fabrication workshop. As the Superintendent you will be accountable for safe work practices and timely execution of the maintenance programme. You will also support business improvement activities and operate within MMG policies and guidelines.
This role will be responsible for fostering and developing Lao national staff so that they can succeed our expatriate technical advisors. Whilst being hands-on with strong analytical thinking and communications skills, you will be looked upon for technical and professional guidance to develop the next generation of Lao leaders within Maintenance.
Utilising your influencing skills, you will lead and improve availability whist reducing cost. You will work collaboratively with other teams and support and comply with MMG business systems. You will up-skill the Lao national team to a professional standard through training, coaching and mentoring within agreed timeframes.
As a successful candidate, you will come from a similar role with strong mobile heavy equipment background. Whilst having strong working experience within Mobile maintenance within mining operations, good working knowledge of maintenance workflows in SAP will be highly regarded. A tertiary qualification or Mechanical trade qualification is essential.
To further your success to the role, you will have a sound track record of effective coaching and mentoring skills with an awareness of how to communicate knowledge effectively across cultures where English is a second language.
This assignment is residentially based in the Lao capital city of Vientiane however FIFO/Commute options may be available depending on the location of our preferred candidate. Onsite accommodation facilities are provided, including a gym and sporting facilities. The remuneration on offer will be commensurate with your experience and the market rate. Full relocation and repatriation assistance is also provided.
