The Government of Lao PDR has received the Project Preparation Advance (PPA) on Protected Area and Wildlife
Project (PAW) from the World Bank. The Project will be implemented by the Department of Planning and Cooperation (DPC) of the Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment (MoNRE). The project objective is to strengthen the participatory management of national protected areas and improve enforcement against illegal wildlife trade. It will be implemented in three main components two of which are divided in subcomponents. Additional information on the project can be found in the Project Concept Notes (PCN) and the Aide memoires of the three joint MoNRE/World Bank preparation mission.
DPC of MoNRE is now recruiting highly qualified candidates for the position of Short Term Consultancy for Organizational Review WMPA
The objective of the assignment is to review the internal organization and capacity of water shed management protection authority (WMPA) and the concerned implementing agencies in line with its PM Decree 471 and propose organizational alternatives that would potentially position the WMPA as an effective and efficient NPA management institution, while maintain its other responsibilities understanding that the NPA and watershed mostly overlap and that the approach is integrated watershed management.
