Our Phu Kham Copper- Gold Operation is in its fifth year of production, our new Ban Houaxyai Gold-Silver Operation has just commenced production and we have a pipeline of other exploration projects in Laos. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Lao nationals for the following position: SENIOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER Safety & Sustainability, Phu Kham Operation Reporting to the Senior Community Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring and reporting of high quality community initiatives to prevent, minimize and mitigate health safety, social and environmental impacts related to company activities. This role is offered on a 20 days on, 8 days off roster Your responsibilities will include: – Implementing and monitoring community education and health development activities under the guidance of the Senior Community Supervisor – Undertaking the collection, collation and analysis of education and health data, statistics and information – Planning of community infrastructure projects with local community and appropriate stakeholder participation – Assisting in community relation issues including grievance investigations – Ensuring all works conform to company safety, environment and community policies – Functioning as company ambassador and assist in maintaining positive relations between the company and the community To be successful in this role, you will need: – Degree level qualification in education or agriculture related discipline – Minimum 5 years previous educational community development work experience in a related field – Previous work experience in community development or working with an NGO or donor organisation – Sound knowledge of educational management would be advantageous – Excellent verbal and written English and Lao skills – Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Phu Bia Mining offers a professional and team-oriented work environment and generous rewards for sound work performance. Site roles work a roster of 20 days on / 8 days off and 14 days on/ 7 days off for shift work, while Vientiane-based roles usually work 5 days per week with 2 days off.
