Job DescriptionVACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT (1position – Lao National) Public Awareness and Research Manager With the ROAD SAFETY PROJECT Funded by BELGIAN DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION Handicap International (HI) is seeking a Public Awareness and Research Manager for the Road Safety Project in Vientiane and Savannakhet. The Road Safety Project’s objective is to reduce the number of road traffic accidents and the disabilities resulting from these accidents in partnership with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. The Public Awareness and Research Manager’s responsibilities: • In close collaboration with the Program Manager and Partners, define public awareness strategies and action plans • Develop monitoring and evaluation tools for the project activities. • Coordinate the implementation of public awareness activities in conjunction with the responsible government agencies • Manage the production of Road Safety awareness materials such as leaflets, posters, TV and Radio spots and other information material from budgeting to the delivery of the final product. • Define and conduct Road Safety Researches in close partnership with research center and universities. • Support Data Collection and Research Officer. • Support Disability Officer • Support the Community Based Road Safety • Manage the documentation of all public awareness and research activities of the project Minimum requirements are: • Relevant Degree in education or another position-related subject; • 10 years working experience in a related field; • Proven skills in working with communities; • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; • Computer skills: MS Office, Adobe PageMaker, Photoshop (basic). • Fluency in written and spoken English This position is based in Vientiane with occasional travel to Savannakhet.
