Job Description

Vacancy Announcement
The Lao Disabled People’s Association (LDPA) is a membership-based non-profit civil society organization for people with disabilities advocating disability rights and provides services to members based on their needs.

We are seeking a Project Manager for the Curtin University ADRAS Research Project: Improving access to social and economic services for people with disability in Lao PDR

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate research project activities within the Lao PDR context, including through effective planning, implementation and reporting
  • Support timely delivery of the Lao PDR project component of the programme through overall project monitoring and financial management
  • Coordinate with key national stakeholders, LDPA members, and Australian research team
  • Oversee translation of questionnaires, training materials, policy briefs, reports to Ministry
  • Plan resource requirements for fieldwork survey, data analysis, and meetings with Reference Group
  • Maintain records of all research material. Establish secure filing system
  • Prepare payment schedules for research assistants
  • Develop schedules for delivery of key outputs: fieldwork visits, reports, meetings
  • Coordinate inputs from all relevant personnel to ensure timelines are met
  • Analyse/ensure quality of data collected OR
  • Data collection and data entry
  • Ensure high quality fieldwork reports on activities, challenges, follow up from each research site
  • Liaise with key stakeholders
  • Prepare reports on activities each quarter
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bilingual in Lao and English languages – written and spoken
  • Supervisory skills and experience,
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to interact with government partners, international organisations and villagers at all levels
  • Experience working with information systems and data analysis tools
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage projects,
  • Demonstrated experience in working with people with disability
  • Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in day-to-day performance


  • Good with computer skills such as: Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet
  • Fluency in English and Lao language (written and spoken)
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills, proactive, and self-motivated with strong morale

Work Environment and Demands

This position may require provincial or international travel. Experienced individuals with disabilities are highly encouraged to apply.
