Notice of Recruitment – Lao National Staff

The Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) is a Norwegian humanitarian organization supporting capacity building and development in many countries and has been engaged in the UXO clearance in Laos since 1997. The strategic goal for the programme is to reduce the humanitarian and socio-economic threat posed by unexploded ordnance (UXO). NPA Lao PDR is regulated by the National Regulatory Authority (NRA) for the UXO Sector. The programme currently has more than 340 staff and receives funding from the Norwegian

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA), Norwegian Telethon (NRK-1) and the United States Department of State. NPA Laos wishes to recruit of a qualified and well-motivated person for the following positions:

1. Field Information Management Assistant: 01 Position, Base in Sekong Office.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Data entry, mapping, reporting and translation of reports
• Organize the IM archive in each province, and make sure it’s up to date
• Ensure that all NPA computers connected to the network and are backed up
• Update NPA province local knowledge base
• Support teams and management staff on IT troubleshooting, and provide information when requested
• Work closely with FOM/FOO and work as team player with other IM assistant from other location
• Fulfill other duties as may be assigned by FOM/TA
• Work in coordination with IM officer in Saravan

Qualifications Requirement
• University or college degree that includes studies in IT and/or computer science
• Competent user of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, Power-point and Outlook)
• Knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and GPS would be an asset
• Ability to setup and maintain a small computer network
• Knowledge in general IT equipment handling and data acquisition
• Able to work in an accurate, structured, dedicated and efficient manner
• Good technical English skills and be able to write concisely
• Lao National
