We have now an opening for one Child Protection / Child Rights Governance ProgrammeOfficer position to join our program team. Child Protection /Child Rights Governance Programme (CP/CRG) Officer
The Child Protection/Child Rights Governance (CP/CRG) Project Officer is supporting the CP/CRG Program Manager and the in the planning and implementation of all project activities in order to ensure that each project meets its goal, purpose, objectives, outputs and associated indicators within a given timeframe. The Project Officer is him/herself assessing the needs of the communities and undertakes trainings in line with the annual project activities to target groups and counterparts.
The Project Officer is supporting the Program Manager in the planning, report writing and in any monitoring and evaluation tasks.
Additionally, the Project Officer will coordinate with the Vientiane-based Child Protection and Child Rights Governance
Technical Teams in implementing the Child Protection Programme.
Major duties are:
• Manages all project implementation, monitoring and evaluation tasks attributed by the Program Manager.
• Supervises that the trainings given in the field by counterparts or consultants are meeting the requirements and expectations set by SC.
• Supports the Program Manager in the preparations of the Program Quarterly Meetings by setting up the agenda, organizing the meeting facilities, transport, equipment, etc.
• Takes minutes and prepares and summarizes documents for the Quarterly Meetings.
• Replaces the Program Manager in meetings if necessary
• Supports the Program Manager in any CP/CRG activities in taking actively part in any preparation meetings, informs regularly the Program Manager and Head of CP/CRG of the current status
• Support in the coordination of SC activities with the local government counterparts.
• Supports all action and payment requests for the Program Manager in case of absence of the Project Assistant.
• Assists the Program Manager with any budget preparations
• Organises all field trips, also those for the Program Managers from other thematic areas, SMT and donors if requested;
• Assists the Program Manager in any required administrative tasks
• Reports any Child Safeguarding issue immediately to the SC Child Safeguarding Focal Point;
• Informs the Program Manager and Field Manager about any new issues concerning emergencies or difficult situations in the implementation or evaluation of all project activities.
The following qualifications are required for this position:
• Minimum Bachelor degree in social science or similar;
• Having experience in Child Protection, Child Rights Governance or similar is an advantage;
• Some basic accounting knowledge is an advantage;
• Experience in an INGO, UN or relevant development business is an advantage;
• Excellent written and spoken English skills;
• Very good IT skills in major applications like MS Office, Internet, etc.
• Proven excellent Government relations;
