RECOFTC – The Center for People and Forests holds a unique and important place in the world of forestry. It is the only international not‐for‐profit organization that specializes in capacity development for community forestry and devolved forest management. With over 25 years of international experience and a dynamic approach to capacity development—involving research, analysis and synthesis; strategic communication; training and learning networks; and piloting and demonstrating—RECOFTC delivers innovative solutions for people and forests.
RECOFTC is now seeking an Accounts and Administration Officer who will be based at RECOFTC Lao PDR Country Program in Vientiane. The contract period will be for 12 months with a possibility of extension.
The Accounts and Administration Officer works under the direct supervision of the Country Program Coordinator (CPC), and in liaison with RECOFTC’s Corporate Services (Finance, Human Resources and Administration) team in Bangkok. The Accounts and Administration Officer is responsible for maintaining every aspect of the RECOFTC Lao office accounts. They will prepare all accounts including project accounts for submission to RECOFTC and project donors on a monthly basis, and ensure that the office administration runs efficiently.
Fifty percent of staff time for this position is allocated to support the ASEAN Swiss Partnership on Social Forestry and Climate Change (ASFCC) program in Lao PDR, specifically its support for the Village Forestry Working Group. He/she serves as finance and administration focal point for the Village Forestry Working Group. In addition about 20% of the staff time for this position is allocated to support the REDD+ Grassroots project in Lao PDR, especially to report on monthly financial reporting and reconciliation of project bank account in Lao PDR.
